Introduction

DP-12 is a hard-working and motherly Doll specializing in defense and protection. Intelligent and sharp-minded, her long history as a security Doll comes with a bit of a professional deformation since she always takes note of the security equipment of the buildings she enters.[1] She's an enthusiast of stories, fables, legends and folklore, particularly scary ones.

She has a special relationship with RF KSVKKSVKKSVK due to becoming her legal guardian, and is a rare example of T-Doll who lived independently within human society.

Real name

In Pandea work's personal canon shared in September 2019, he introduced the character of Helena (海伦娜), the T-Doll who adopted KSVK.[2] DP-12 was added to Girls' Frontline in November 2019, 10 months after KSVK, but there was no hard proof yet that she was Helena beyond her making a reference to KSVK in her quotes. The connection was confirmed with the release of KSVK's Neural Upgrade story in April 2020.

When DP-12's own Neural Upgrade story was released in March 2023, her name was changed to Helen (海伦), evidently because her original name conflicted with the NPC of the same name to be featured in Girls' Frontline 2: Exilium.

Artist Canon

Helena (海伦娜) is a T-Doll who worked for a local police department. She met the child Doll Dushevnyy (Душевны) after rescuing her from the terrorist attack that killed all of her adoptive family, and adopted her in turn. Dushevnyy eventually left without warning years later seeking revenge, but lost her memories after an incident. IOP converted her into a T-Doll and sent her to Griffin & Kryuger, where she was renamed KSVK. Helena quit her job and searched for Dushevnyy, eventually finding her thanks to a photo online and joining the PMC herself under the name DP-12.[2]

Biography

Helen and Dushevnaya

At some point in the mid-2050s, DP-12 worked as a house Doll for the rich Lucas family as the personal servant of their son, Troy Lucas. Troy was a problem child due to being neglected by his parents, and especially hated Helen because he felt his parents were considering her a replacement for their presence. Troy in fact gave her the name of the woman who caused the fall of the city of Troy in the Ancient Greek myths. When his parents didn't come home to celebrate his birthday, Troy ordered Helen to kidnap him, resulting in a hostage situation where Helen pretended to menace Troy with a knife after the police intervened. How the situation resolved isn't explained, but Helen ran away and Troy regained his parent's attention for a while, before they again entrusted him to another Doll guardian with behavioral restrictions. A search warrant was put out for Helen, who was described as a Doll who had suddenly developed an aberrant, independent and selfish personality.

After this incident, Helen lived as a fugitive, often changing locations.[3] At some point, she was a T-Doll bodyguard working for a sanatorium on the border of the contamination zone. When the renowned elderly artist Ash James was sent to the sanatorium after developing mental health issues because of the death of her family, DP-12 physically prevented her suicidal tendencies while the caretaker Doll named Dushevnaya helped her recover mentally. James eventually hired Helen as a personal bodyguard, allowing the T-Doll to amass a considerable amount of money. When James left the sanatorium, Dushevnaya was slated for neural cloud reset. Helen couldn't bear to see her lose her attachment and the memories of her time with James, and used her money to purchase Dushevnaya. The sanatorium director accepted and helped the two Dolls as they began their independent life.

Dushevnaya admired Helen's strength, physical and in character, and strove to become like her so she wouldn't be abandoned by anyone again. She ran away while Helen was out on a job to become a T-Doll.[4] Helen felt relieved by Dushevanaya's ran away, because living with Helen exposed her to danger,[3] but Helen still tracked her down to watch over her in her quest while not interfering in her growth. Dushevnaya was eventually acquired by IOP after wrecking her body and ended at Griffin & Kryuger under the name KSVK. When Helen applied to join, the Commander already knew who she was due to KSVK's background check and fast-tracked her admission under the name DP-12. After joining G&K, KSVK only had brief and vague recollections of someone named Helen in her past, but didn't draw the connection with DP-12.[4] After assuming the name DP-12, Helen lowered her guard and stayed at Griffin & Kryuger for too long.[3]

Facing the past

In the first half of 2060s, HG StechkinStechkinStechkin matched DP-12 and the search warrant for Helen, and offered to draw her out under the pretense of a contract, with a team including RF VSK-94VSK-94VSK-94 since Stechkin expected DP-12 to resist arrest. However, the reunion of DP-12 and Troy was completely peaceful since Troy pretended that DP-12 wasn't the Doll he was searching for, and Stechkin and VSK were sent away as Troy and DP-12 toured the places they used to visit together a decade ago. Troy offered DP-12 to join the Lucas Group, but she refused since her loyalty lied with the Commander. Troy rescinded the search warrant for Helen and offered her a new high-end body to replace her current one, which had decade-old parts and had been repaired many times.[3]

When KSVK was selected for a Neural Upgrade, her unstable memories became an issue, and DP-12 helped her face her past.[4]

Girls' Frontline 2: Exilium

After leaving Griffin & Kryuger, KSVK joined a certain PMC, but overheard classified information and her employers started her neural reset and recycling. DP-12 interrupted the process to break KSVK out of the White Zone and hide her in the contamination zone. However, her memory was scrambled, and she couldn't remember DP-12 or her own name. DP-12 changed her affiliation from her current employer to her former one, which helped her remember the Commander, Griffin & Kryuger, the nature of her relationship with DP-12, and that she was infected with a virus causing her to regularly crash and lose memory data, as well as constantly displaying her position.

Both were heavily damaged while running away from their pursuers, and KSVK kept losing consciousness as a result of trying to remember the information that caused the incident until they reached an Underground Broker's base. DP-12 transferred KSVK's ID to herself to mislead the pursuers, and sent KSVK to the contamination zone in a cargo box. After eventually regaining consciousness long enough to leave the vehicle transporting her, KSVK began wandering the contamination zone in search of DP-12, but eventually forgot even her.[5]

Side stories

  • Dream Theatre: DP-12 quickstarts the story by telling a ghost story so terrifying it makes the Carcano sisters run away, and while rushing after them finds all the Dolls that have been deactivated.
  • Lycan Sanctuary: DP-12 is one of the Werewolves and manages a storytelling stand. She invites the Commander to a session along with 4 Shiki and NTW-20. She later suggests killing one of the Werewolves to throw the Villagers off their lead.
  • Charming Furniture Expo: DP-12 takes part in the charity furniture sale with other Dolls. After setting up her stand with JS 9 and chasing off a difficult customer with her charms, she helps a lost child with EM-2 and manages to sell everything except a particularly large cabinet. She sets up an impromptu event where she invites prospective buyers to enter the cabinet with her and be allowed to buy it if they can withstand her reciting terrifying ghost stories. While there were many candidates to enter a confined space in her company, it is implied that every last candidate ran away in terror.
  • Symphony No. 4: DP-12 was held back by her work at Logistics and couldn't attend the Griffin gala with KSVK. When KSVK realized that her dress was too small for her, DP-12 gave her the idea of using a body with a younger appearance to fit into it.
