Trivia
- Asteria has been teased since the 2022 PV, and again in the Chiral Redundancy preview stream, and released in July 2026.
- "Asteria" is Ancient Greek and Latin for "of the stars". "Star" is a common community nickname for AR ST AR-15ST AR-15ST AR-15. Her name was teased in the Girls' Frontline 10th Anniversary internal WeChat announcement, where a detail from the employee biker jacket pointed to the fictional "as Astra AG" with the caption "Derived from the Latin word for 'star', it is also an alternate name for the AR-15". AR-15 also appeared under this name in Fingertips Breakout's June 2026 beta.
Footnotes
- ↑ It's a common misconception that the AR in AR-15 stands for "ArmaLite Rifle." The AR is actually a shortened form of the ArmaLite name used in early designations (ex. ArmaLite 10 was shortened simply to AR-10). This clarification was made by ArmaLite themselves on the company's original FAQ page. However, under new management after the company was acquired by Strategic Armory Corps in 2013, the meaning was erroneously changed to "ArmaLite Rifle" on its history page. This is partly responsible for some of the confusion around the AR designation, though the page has since been removed.
