Introduction

Official character setting for Suomi states that she is a T-doll with a serious personality and a strong sense of duty, in normal everyday life she is less mature, more innocent than most T-dolls, not very skilled with her speech and phrasing. She highly dislikes all Soviet and Russian guns due to the history between Finland and Russia, even hold grudges against the modern Soviet/Russian weaponry, and has a rivalry with SMG PPSh-41PPSh-41PPSh-41. Suomi calls her “"pikkuryssä"” (“little Russian”).[1]

Suomi is a massive fan of metal music, as evident by many quotations and the Christmas skin background story. Just like the typical behaviour of a Finnish person, Suomi would like others to remain a reasonable distance away from her.

Suomi makes a minor appearance in the main story on the gameplay map of Convolutional Kernel 23 – The Collapse of Paradise, taking part in the fight against the remaining Nyto ringleaders in AR AR-18AR-18AR-18's team alongside SG MSBSMSBSMSBS, AR QBZ-191QBZ-191QBZ-191 and HG WelrodWelrodWelrod.

Mail - Important Festival on Feb 14th

Dear Commander,

I hope you are well. I just returned to the base from a mission. I know this is at rather short notice, but I wonder if it's not too late to book you for the day on February 14th?
To tell you the truth, February 14th has always been a very important day for me. It is a day that should be spent with someone you cherish.
However, this day was somehow always ruined before for various reasons, either because I was suddenly deployed, or you happened to be away, or... I couldn't muster the courage to disturb you.
But this time, you're at the base, I just completed my mission, and my roommates have been cheering me on... Looks like I have no more reason to get cold feet, so... please spend Friendship Day with me! I'll prepare some records from my private collection, delicious food, and fun games! I'll make sure you have a great time!
...Huh? Valentine's Day... Wait, so February 14th is Valentine's Day here at the Griffin base?! N-no, I didn't mean... No, I do mean... Hold on, I-I'm confusing myself...
...You'd love to spend February 14th with me? That's wonderful! I'll start making the preparations right away! And please just forget how I mixed up Friendship Day and Valentine's Day...

Suomi

Remark on Timeline

There's an inconsistency regarding the period where Suomi joined the Elmo:

  • In Sojourners of the Glass Island SS-1-1, it's said Suomi has been aboard the Elmo for two months and that Krolik recently joined.
  • Girls' Frontline 2: Exilium begins on 15 April 2074, the day after Krolik's welcome party. In SL-7-1 and Secrets of the Heart, it's said that Krolik was on the Elmo on a trial period for 100 days, meaning that SS-1-1 must take place on 4 January 2074 at the earliest and that Suomi must have joined in November 2073 at the earliest.
  • Also in SL-7-1, it's said that Nemesis was aboard the Elmo on 3 May 2073. Other stories imply she's been aboard for much longer.
  • In Bygones in the Wind, Suomi is shown to be with the Elmo when they first meet Nemesis.
  • We're left with an difference of 5 months at minimum, between May and November 2073, regarding the period at which Suomi joined the Elmo.

Based on IOP Wiki's canon policies, Suomi's presence in Bygones in the Wind is disregarded as it is the oldest source, with SS-1-1 considered a retcon.

Mail - Suomi's Winter Blessing

From: Suomi 2024.12.24

Dear Commander:

Commander, do you know what day this is?

Hehe, it's snowing~ This is a very special day in Suomi's hometown. Typically, we celebrate it with the people who are closest us.

As it happens, Mayling said we had a Christmas tree in storage. Actually, it's not like it's mandatory for the occasion or anything... the important part is making sure I share my goodwill for this winter with everyone on the Elmo.

So... if it's not too much trouble for you... Could you help decorate the Christmas tree with me? I'll be waiting for you in the Elmo's common area. Of course... it's okay if you're not free. The important thing is... Merry Christmas, Commander!

Elmo's Wishing Well

Suomi Wants to be the Audience This Time

And I want to listen to the Commander sing!

A wish? But the Commander has already helped make so many wishes of mine come true... I wonder what other wishes there are for me to mention...?

Hoping for the Commander to stay with us forever? This is not the kind of wish you should say here? Then... Hmm... Ah! I know!

Heehee...I've been singing to the Commander a lot lately, haven't I?

Although I enjoy doing that, sometimes I do think "If only I could hear the Commander sing for me just once!"

I did hear that the Commander seems to only have experience singing military songs... Still, I'm about to go out on a mission soon, so, could you please...

Come along with me, and sing for me during the downtime between battles?

To: Commander

Thank you so much!!!

I did not expect you to satisfy such an unruly and headstrong request from me...Heehee, you've always been such a tender soul.

Anyway, so this is what your singing feels like! How unexpected! I'll treasure this CD forever! Also, it will be the one I treasure the most!

You're asking how your singing was? It felt super good to me, of course!

Even the best singers can't hold a candle to you, Commander.

Isn't that a matter of fact?

Mail - Exilium 1 Year Anniversary

Suomi's Anniversary Message

Commander! Hyvää vuosipäivää!

I added a few drops of my favorite aromatic oil to this letter~ Miss Ullrid said that's a little unconventional and informal, but I want to share with you a whiff of sunshine!

I am soooo incredibly happy to have spent this year together with you! As well as being very thankful for always listening to me patiently, even when I get nervous and say the wrong things!

Oh, right! I recently learned how to write heavy metal versions of lullabies! Though everyone always looked a little... " uneasy" when I played-I think they sound great! And lastly, I can take care of others now, even just a little! Miss Ullrid said that's what "growth" is. I think however it's all thanks to you that I managed to become a more dependable Doll!

Please stay safe and healthy! That's my most heartfelt wish!

Season's Greetings from the Doll Community

Dear Commander:

Have the bells struck twelve on the Elmo yet? I can see snowflakes outside the Doll Community's windows, and Big Sis has lit a warm fireplace for us. Meanwhile, I'm standing at the comms station, hoping that I can reach you before dinner. In my hometown, people usually sit around a stove, sharing stories and joy with their friends and loved ones-Commander... I wish I could be with you right now.

The truth is, sending this message wasn't my idea alone. The help you've given the Doll Community over the past year has smoothed our path even through the harshest snowstorms, for which we are all very grateful. It makes me even more certain that meeting you again is the greatest piece of luck in my life.

Therefore, I prepared a little seasonal gift for you as a token of thanks. I hope it will stay with you and warm you on these winter days.

Finally, please take good care of yourself. I hope you'll have a warm winter and that you will be surrounded by starlight and warmth throughout the new year.
