Poludnitsa (佩妮泽) is a famous member of the Underground Brokers in Eastern Europe and a recurring supporting character in Girls' Frontline 2: Exilium.
Character Info
She holds the title of Surrogate, one of the founders of the Underground Quarters where the Underground Brokers originated.[1] She regularly organized the annual Underground Broker fair, under the name “Mercury's Bazaar”.[2] She appears to have taken Aminda as her protégé.[3]
She's fond of literary and mythological references.[4][5]
Story Involvement
Poludnitsa was a regular contact of the Commander during their bounty hunter days, and delivered them supplies and an SST Doll frame to replace Krolik's body after the Elmo was wrecked by Varjagers in April 2074. She also tipped off the Commander about the spurious origins of their latest contract.[6] Since she couldn't procure some of the parts ordered by the Commander, she offered compensation by giving them the Doll Colphne, who wanted to join the Elmo and become a T-Doll.[7]
During Mimisbrunnr's Loop, Poludnitsa met again with Jakub Zeman, a former member of her convoy she had kicked out due to his disregard for the brokers' solidarity.[8] Poludnitsa strongly enforces what she called the “bottom line”, the minimum solidarity necessary for the otherwise competitive merchants of the contamination zone to prosper.[9] Poludnitsa was initially uninterested in taking part in Jakub's fair, but after Peri's disappearance, Springfield gave Poludnitsa an incentive to get involved in the investigation.
Through her intelligence network, Springfield had learned that Poludnitsa was negotiating with Drachen when Jakub sent a counter-offer, evidently having learned about the Drachen's offer through a mole in Poludnitsa's crew. Springfield revealed to Poludnitsa the mole's identity, and in exchange Poludnitsa provided CCTV footage proving Jakub's involvement in Peri's disappearance,[8] and entered her convoy into the rally to allow the Elmo Dolls to gather more evidence against Jakub.[10] In the end, Poludnitsa asked the Commander not to reveal Jakub's secret and spare his reputation.[9]
In Intertwined Assault, when the Commander contacts her to buy some supplies and notices a significant price markup, Poludnitsa reports the issue of tightened controls on Underground Broker supply lines to the Green Zones because of the incident with Girard Group's contaminated ELID vaccines. The Commander ends up getting the suppliers through NOMFA instead,[11] but later uses Poludnitsa's services to search for buyers for the raw vaccine materials they took back from the Varjagers, leading them to Orphia.[12]
