The Phases system in this version was very different from the final game and used seven Phases: physical (green), lightning (blue), heat (red), Collapse (yellow), Reverse Collapse (purple) and common (white). Phases had advantage and disadvantage relationships, while in the final version each individual unit is weak to a specific phase. The logo of the neutral common phase was reused in the final game for the physical phase.
