Introduction
Krolik is a typical tsundere: she's not comfortable displaying positive emotions, only uses roundabout ways to show her affection and reflexively rejects affection towards herself. Her headstrong personality is a result of the trauma from her past in the Doll arenas.[1] She acquired her fighting style during this period, acting as a vanguard rushing down enemies to break their composure. She enjoys the rush provided by close combat[2] and considers sword combat to be "the epitome of romance",[3] though the absence of ranged weapon sometimes puts her in difficult situations[4] and she eventually started carrying a sidearm.[5] For some reason, she's also proficient in electronic warfare.[6] Proud of her combat strength, Krolik believes it is her duty to protect those weaker and meeker than her. On the Elmo, this applies to Helena and Colphne.[7] For this reason, she aims to keep becoming stronger.[8]
Krolik insists on integrating head accessories mimicking long ears in all of her outfits,[9] while insisting that they are not rabbit ears.[10] She doesn't want anyone to touch these ears, only allowing the Commander to do it.[11]
Krolik relentlessly searches for Peritya, who saved her from the arena before vanishing without a trace. She initially took Peritya's disappearance as a betrayal and sought revenge, but her feelings eventually settled on simply wanting to be reunited with Peritya.[12] It is said that Krolik's pursuit of her past is a trait she shares with the Commander.[1]
She appears to be a fan of fairy tales.[13]
Main Story
Origins
Krolik was originally a civilian service Doll working in the Odesa White Zone. She was also recorded in the satellite city ODE-22.[14] At some unknown point before 2067, she found herself in an underground Doll fighting arena in the Green Zone and was forcibly modified into a Tactical Doll to take part in gladiatorial combat.[1] Outfitted with a bladed weapon fire control core, she was forced to provide spectacle by rushing down opponents, a fighting style she would stick with after leaving the arena.[2] A proficient fighter, she cut down many Dolls against her will, but couldn't break out of the arena itself.[8]
In 2067, Statesec suppressed Doll arenas[15] and Krolik managed to escape with the help of Peritya during a crackdown operation. However, she lost contact with Peritya and started wandering in the contamination zones,[1] stealing and scavenging to survive.[16] Memory data from her time in the arena sometimes crept up during her sleep in a form of PTSD.[8]
Joining the Elmo

On 4 January 2074, Krolik attacked Groza and Nemesis while they were out on mission, while trying to neutralize and interrogate Groza about Peritya's whereabouts, having seen her talking with Peritya in the past. Groza and Nemesis destroyed one of Krolik's legs and brought her back to the Elmo, since she had recently been listed as one of B.R.I.E.F.'s hunting targets. Krolik threatened to commit suicide by neural meltdown if the access to her neural cloud was forced, but the Commander wanted to get her cooperation since she may hold information about Groza's past. Krolik agreed to connect to Nemesis' neural cloud for a controlled data exchange, which didn't yield any useful information for either party.
The Commander offered Krolik to join the Elmo so she could bolster their fighting force while helping her gather information about Peritya. Krolik agreed to a 100-days trial. Krolik eventually decided to stay aboard the Elmo, since the Commander treated her well and gave her the freedom to fight as she liked. As an extra safety, the Commander threatened to make her pay for the expenses of her trial period if she refused to stay.[17]
Krolik discovered that she could understand the cryptic speech of Nemesis, but doesn't know the reason why. Though she dislikes Nemesis (who took a liking to pushing Krolik's buttons), she still dutifully acts as a translator when necessary.[18] As a result, Krolik must always pair up with Nemesis during combat duty. Later, after Vepley joined the Elmo, an attempt was made to create an automated translator for Nemesis, but it wasn't practical enough for combat and daily use.[19]
TASK-3115

Krolik officially joined the Elmo on 14 April 2074,[20][21][17] fifteen days after the start of transport mission TASK-3115, and a welcome party was held for her. The very next day, the sleepy crew of the Elmo was ambushed by Varjagers aiming to seize the package[20] and Krolik was taken out with no spare body available for deployment.[22] She came back online only after the Commander procured frames from Poludnitsa.[23] Krolik's lazy handling of the delivery of Poludnitsa's supplies allowed Colphne to board the Elmo unnoticed.[24]
During the Elmo's ambush of the Varjagers in Port Vest, Krolik was in charge of transporting and defending the package, which was used as bait. Krolik successfully defended against hordes of ELIDs before evacuating.[25][26] Groza Team fought the ELID hordes to save Krolik because of the potential data loss caused by the Elmo's neural backup server[27] and to save on the cost of new frames.[3]
She took part in the first fight against Sextans,[28] the rescue of Helena from ODE-01,[29] the infiltration of the Borricha Paradeus sect,[30] the defense of the Elmo from Mangi Security Service[4] and the evacuation of H.I.D.E. 404 from Jahodná.[31]
Peritya discreetly helped Krolik and Groza Team in ODE-01, but elected not to reveal her presence or join the Elmo at the time.[32][33][34]
Side Stories
After completing a round of commission, the Commander asks the crew to setup a financially reasonable feast to recover from a month of eating nothing but hardtack. Colphne turns the preparations into a cooking competition between the Groza-Mayling team and the Krolik-Nemesis team, with Mayling's rice wine as the prize. The experienced Groza ends up helping both the nervous and clumsy Mayling and the clueless opposing team, hoping that the Commander will end up with at least one palatable meal. The Krolik-Nemesis team ends up winning, but the two Dolls give Mayling back her wine in the end, since neither of them have an interest in alcohol. The Commander later informs Groza that they chose Krolik and Nemesis' dish because Groza's was not using the correct ingredients. Groza takes the mistake with utmost seriousness and later requests that the Commander to keep taste-testing her cuisine so she can retain her “perfect leader” title.

Krolik's Training Regimen
Commander, Let's Train!
Commander, what's with the recent training schedule? Only two missions a day?
That's way too lax! If this keeps up, I'll just get weaker and weaker. No way that's happening! Before I find that certain someone, I've gotta get stronger!
I know you're busy, so I've put together a training regimen I think is suitable. Already sent it to you, so take a look and get it sorted ASAP.
Completing this and getting stronger-that's my wish!
Of course, you're joining in too. No objections, right? When I can't protect you, you need to be able to survive on your own.
Alright, that's it. Waiting on you to arrange it.
By the way, having to deal with this wishing well system is so troublesome. Too many damn boxes! Can't I just talk to you directly?
Krolik's Training Regimen - Part 2
To: Commander
I just had Mayling help me crunch some numbers, and sure enough, the sync rates for all modules have improved!
I've noticed your arm muscles looking more toned too, and you even ate two extra bowls at dinner. How about that?
The training's paying off, eh? People need to keep moving.
If you spend all day cooped up in the command room, your "parts" are gonna rust! You can't turn into a middle-aged fossil prematurely, Commander!
So, how about continuing to train with me?
L-Let me be clear, it's not like I particularly want to train with you or anything. I just can't stand seeing you mope around, listless and all!
Also, this wishing well system is a hassle with all its bells and whistles.
From now on, I'll just come knock on your door directly. If you don't want it taken off its hinges, you'd better answer promptly!
Hmph, get ready for even more brutal special training, Commander!

Krolik's Anniversary Message
Oh look, time for the annual celebration again!
You've already received tons of messages, haven't you? As expected of a busy bee like you, huh?
Hmph, it's not like I'll hold that against you. Anyway, I bought a new bunny suit but couldn't find anyone to ask for an opinion, so that's what this message is for-
Should I wear pink or black bunny ears?
Unless you have a better color in mind-In that case, I'll wear whichever you pick to the celebration party. So you'd better come help me choose soon if you want to go together!
And also, umm... happy anniversary.
