Mangi Security Service

Mangi Security Service (曼尼安保) is a PMC active in Eastern Europe in 2074 and an antagonist faction in Girls' Frontline 2: Exilium.
The PMC was established in France in 2061 by Christopher Bouquin (克里斯托弗·布奎因), a former Lieutenant-Colonel of the French Foreign Legion, as a front-end company for the security and intelligence consulting arm of Cecht FABN.[Note 1] After the French National Assembly passed a constitutional amendment in 2065 banning the Republican Guard, Mangi expanded rapidly, recruiting former members of the Republican Guard, Paris National Police, Belgian State Security Service and Brussel Police, and was spun off into its own company,[1] probably for fiscal reasons.[2] Cecht FABN owns 46% of the company, with another 30% shared between the French Pharmaceutical Consortium and Total (a major oil company). Bouquin remained in control of the company by 2075, with the rest of its leadership comprising Bouquin's personal friends from the Foreign Legion during World War Three. The URNC investigative agencies found that this tight-knit, well-trained and well-organized group made the company impervious to in-depths investigations, and it is even suspected that they eliminated a compromised member during a garage incident in Madrid in 2073.
Mangi handles company security, medical service security, mining area security, asset preservation as well as land transportation and logistics for Cecht FABN. They're habilitated to work in Green and Yellow Zones and to field lightly armed infantry, Tactical Dolls, transport vehicles, light armored vehicles and unarmored aircraft. The URNC suspected Mangi of minor tax and financial crimes as well as industrial espionage, smuggling and bribery of French police agencies in the Green Zones, as well as illegal mining, illegal medical experiments and trading with illegal organizations in the Yellow Zone, such as French, Benelux and German political extremists (though Mangi itself was determined to not be a political actor despite an internal right-wing orientation). The company was flagged as a low-priority sensitive group.[1] Despite only being registered with NOMFA as a small PMC with under 100 employees,[3] Mangi employs around 2000[2] well-equipped human mercenaries,[4] including an elite force called the “Omen” (噩兆, also translated “Mishaps”).[5] The Omen earned its name within the company due to them being often called to clean up after Paradeus, which implies fighting Boojums and other monstrosities. They are equipped in consequence with heavy weapons and IFVs.[6]
In 2071, Mangi collaborated with the Girard Group on the mysterious Project Coronal Hole, recruiting the former Griffin & Kryuger T-Doll Nikketa as a research subject for third-generation Dolls. This allowed Nikketa to become an insider agent for the Public Security Administration,[7] and she was still acting as a mole in 2074.[8] Adjutant Lentine led the Omen for a cleanup operation in an underground Paradeus lab some time after April 2074 and suffered heavy casualties against the Commander and their Dolls.[9] Lentine led a punishing attack on the Elmo soon after,[10] but were still pushed back.[3]

Trivia
- The Mangi logo first appeared in July 2021 on one of Pandea work's character sheets. It appeared again the same year on DushevnayaDushevnaya 's artwork for Project Neural Cloud. The logo made an easily-missed appearance in the May 2022 trailer for Girls' Frontline 2: Exilium, a game where Pandea work is credited as Lead Concept Artist. It then appeared again in March 2023 on SG DP-12DP-12DP-12's Neural Upgrade artwork. The faction was properly introduced in the universe with Aphelion in 2024.
Note
- ↑ In the original Chinese text of Girls' Frontline 2: Exilium and the third Confidential Files, Mangi is affiliated with the Sanofi-Farben Chemicals Group (赛诺菲 - 法本化学集团), which are real companies. The names are censored as "Cecht FABN" in the English translation.
